Registration day, without the spreadsheet.

Registrar is registration software for homeschool co-ops: a public course catalog, one login per household, and ready-to-print rosters — so no seat gets double-booked and nobody is chasing a form.

Sound familiar?

Running registration for a co-op is usually a volunteer's side job, and the tools weren't built for it.

  • A form that doesn't know a class is full, so you oversell it.
  • A family signs two kids up for classes that meet the same hour.
  • Rosters rebuilt by hand, term after term, the night before.
  • An end-of-term scramble to total up who owes what.

Registrar handles each of these for you.

How it works

  1. 1

    Set up your term

We set up your co-op's site in under two days. Then you create a term, add courses, and choose who manages — a short checklist walks you through it.

  2. 2

    Families enroll

Anyone can browse the catalog. Families sign in once and enroll each child, with seats held for ten minutes while they check out.

  3. 3

    You run the day

Print rosters, export CSVs, and see what each household owes — then collect payment however you already do.

What you get

Everything registration day needs

Never oversell a class

Every class shows how many seats are left. When a family adds a class to their cart, that seat is held for ten minutes while they check out, and the last seat can only go to one person. Full classes say so.

A course card showing a $30 class with 7 of 10 seats remaining. A course card showing a $30 class with 7 of 10 seats remaining. A course card with a red Full badge in place of the seat count. A course card with a red Full badge in place of the seat count.

Schedules that match how co-ops really meet

Group classes into shared meeting periods, run a one-off workshop with its own sign-up window, or schedule something that meets the first Tuesday of every month. Families see it in plain language.

  • Catch conflicts before families do

A child can't be signed up for two classes that overlap. Registrar checks across terms and through repeating schedules.

  • One login for the whole household

Families sign in once and enroll each child from their own profile. No duplicate accounts, no re-entering details.

  • Rosters ready for the door

Print a roster or save it as a PDF. Export a CSV for one class or a whole term.

  • Know what each household owes

Fees total up per family and per child, by term or across all terms, and export to CSV for your books.

  • A catalog anyone can browse

Terms, classes, teachers, ages, cost and open seats — public, with no account needed to look around.

  • Made for phones and laptops

Families register from wherever they are. The interface comes in light and dark.

Collect payment your way

Cash, check, Venmo, a separate processor — whatever your co-op already does. Registrar doesn't take a cut and doesn't touch card data, so there's no transaction fee and nothing to secure. It totals what's owed; you keep control of the money.

See it from every seat

Built for the three people who touch registration

Admins

Create terms and classes, share meeting times across a term, choose who manages, and see what every household owes.

Managers

See every roster, print it, export it, and add or remove a student for a family — with a capacity check before anything changes.

Families

Browse the catalog, enroll each child, and cancel any class that hasn't started — the seat goes back right away.

Every class's headcount, in one view

Managers see who's enrolled in every class, filter by term, hide the empty ones, and open any roster to print it, export it, or add and remove a student — with a capacity check before anything changes.

The manager's Enrollments screen: a table of classes by term and meeting period with enrolled-over-capacity counts, a term filter, a search box, and a Hide empty courses option. Set a meeting time once, share it across the term

Admins define a meeting period once and attach every class that meets then. Change the time and every class using it moves with it.

The admin's Periods screen: four named meeting periods with their weekday, time, date range, and the number of classes using each. The admin's Periods screen: four named meeting periods with their weekday, time, date range, and the number of classes using each.

“Registration used to eat a whole weekend of spreadsheets for our volunteers. Now families sign up on their own, and we just print the rosters.”

Safe with families' information

Your co-op's data stays your co-op's

  • Its own site, its own database

Every co-op runs on a separate Registrar site with its own database and its own sign-in. Nothing is shared between co-ops.

  • No passwords to lose

Families sign in through a dedicated sign-in service. Registrar never sees or stores a password.

  • No payment data at all

Registrar doesn't take payments, and it doesn't collect home addresses or phone numbers either. There's very little to protect, because there's very little collected.

  • No ads, no tracking, no selling

No advertising, no behavioral tracking or analytics scripts in the app, and personal information is never sold.

  • Consent for younger children

Guardians confirm consent when enrolling a student under 13, in keeping with COPPA, and agree to the terms and confirm their age at first sign-in.

  • Families stay in control

Guardians can edit a child's details, remove a profile, or delete their own account from inside the app.

Why Registrar exists

Built by a co-op parent

I'm Devyn, a parent in a homeschool co-op in North Carolina — 340 students strong. Every term I watched our volunteers wrestle with forms and spreadsheets just to get families into classes, and I wanted something better for them.

So I built Registrar so my local co-op could register easily: a place where families can see what's open, sign up each child, and trust that the seat is theirs. If your co-op runs on the same patchwork, I'd love for it to work for you too.

Questions, or want to talk it through? Email me at humans@registrar.education — a real person answers.

Questions, answered

What does it cost, and is there a contract?

Plans start at $3 a month and are billed monthly. There is no contract — cancel anytime. Non-profits, schools, and educators get $3 off every tier.

Do you take payments from families?

No. Registrar doesn't process payments, so there's no transaction fee and no card data to protect. It totals what each household owes, with a CSV export, and you collect the money your usual way — cash, check, Venmo, or a separate processor. It doesn't track who has paid.

What happens when a class is full?

The class shows as Full and can't be added to a cart. There's no waitlist. Admins can raise a class's capacity, and managers can add or remove enrollments directly.

How do families sign in?

Through a secure hosted sign-in with email or social accounts — no passwords for you to manage. One login covers every child in the household.

Who can see our data?

Only your co-op. Every co-op runs on its own separate Registrar site, with its own database and its own sign-in. Nothing is shared between co-ops.

Can families cancel a class?

Yes, until the class starts. Cancelling frees the seat right away.

Does Registrar send reminder emails?

Not yet. Today it doesn't send reminders or confirmations by email.

How long does setup take?

Less than two days from your request. We create your co-op's own site and make you its first admin. After that, adding your terms and classes is up to you — a short checklist walks you through it.

How do we get started?

Request access and tell us about your co-op. We set up your own Registrar site in under two days and make you its first admin; then you add your terms and courses.

Something else? Email humans@registrar.education — a human will answer.
